Serena set aside at Wimbledon

Serena Williams has been snubbed at Wimbledon for Caroline Wozniacki. Why? Because she is a very disrespectful and fat-headed athlete in my opinion. If she was aware of the privilege she enjoys to be a millionaire athlete and icon worldwide, instead of a whiny, entitled boar, maybe she would be able to have the ‘honor’ of playing for the queen. Last year much was made of Serena’s profanity-laced tirade at a side judge during a tournament and so this is the reason being bandied about. Sure, it makes sense to me. Like they say, ‘pride comes before a fall’. ‘Seems to me that Serena has made her bed and has to sleep in it, after all the talk about how to curtsey.

On the other hand, who gives a darn about playing in front of the queen? Sure, her family is storied, and like, legendary. She makes a lot of dough, has a genuine crown, and she is revered by millions of people. At the end of the day, she puts her pants on one leg at a time, bleeds just like everyone else, and is pretty much useless to society. I don’t mean to insult the woman, but at least Bono has two gifts; he helps the less fortunate, and his musical talents are considerable. Not that I care too much for U2.

What is the queen compared to that?

I mean, aside from the jewels and reverential awe about her, what makes her any different from you or me?
